On 26 June 2022 inclusive, the second phase of the multi-family housing owners’ choice of an independent electricity supplier ended.
Customers who have signed a contract with an independent electricity supplier for residential use receive a new payer code and pay according to it.
For common-use electricity, residents do not need to do anything extra and the old payment codes apply. The independent supplier for the building will be chosen by the communities themselves or by the companies servicing the building. All communities will enter Phase III of the programme, which ends on 18.12.2022.
Without choosing an independent supplier, consumers will automatically be placed in a state-guaranteed, more expensive electricity supply. Payment is based on the previous arrangements and old codes.
After purchasing an apartment in a managed building, the customer chooses and contracts an independent electricity supplier for the apartment. They also sign a contract with “Ignitis” for shared electricity. The new owner informs the building administrator of the payer code issued for the common use electricity.
